We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist with 1+ year of experience and strong technical expertise across Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models for real-world client use cases.

Perform data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical analysis.

Build and evaluate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models.

Work with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG systems, embeddings, and AI agents.

Develop NLP and other AI-powered solutions where applicable.

Experiment with different models, architectures, prompts, and techniques to improve AI system performance.

Build data pipelines and prepare datasets for machine learning and AI applications.

Develop data visualizations and analytical solutions to extract meaningful insights.

Work with structured and unstructured data.

Develop prototypes and convert successful experiments into production-ready AI/ML solutions.

Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models and AI capabilities into software applications.

Contribute to model deployment, monitoring, optimization, and maintenance.

Research and evaluate new AI/ML techniques, frameworks, and tools.

Work directly under the CTO on AI, ML, and data-driven projects for Veloxio's clients.

Required Skills

1+ year of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related technical role.

Strong proficiency in Python.

Advanced understanding of Machine Learning concepts and algorithms.

Strong knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and optimization.

Experience working with Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.

Strong understanding of Generative AI and LLM-based applications.

Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and LLM workflows.

Understanding of NLP and modern AI techniques.

Experience working with data visualization and exploratory data analysis.

Strong understanding of statistics and probability used in machine learning.

Ability to work with both structured and unstructured datasets.

Preferred Skills

Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows.

Experience developing and integrating LLM-powered applications.

Experience deploying machine learning models or AI applications into production.

Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

Experience with Git/GitHub and standard software development practices.

Familiarity with APIs and integrating AI/ML models into web applications.

Experience with model optimization, monitoring, or basic MLOps.

Experience working with modern AI frameworks and tools.

Exposure to cloud platforms is a plus, but not required.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but strong practical experience and technical projects will also be considered.
