What we collect, why we collect it, who can see it and the choices you have.

1About this policy

This policy explains how Jeevika India (“Jeevika India”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use jeevikaindia.com, create a job seeker or employer account, apply for jobs or subscribe to job alerts.

We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them. By using the site you agree to this policy together with our terms of use.

2Information we collect

Job seekers

  • Name, email address, mobile / WhatsApp number and city.
  • Profile details: education, experience, skills, current role, preferred jobs, expected salary and your resume or photo if you upload them.
  • Your job applications, saved jobs and the employers you interact with.

Employers

  • Company name and details, the name, email and phone number of the person managing the account.
  • The jobs you publish and the candidates you view or contact.

Job alert subscribers

  • Name, email address and your alert preferences (department, location, work mode and frequency).

Collected automatically

  • Pages you visit, the referring site, campaign tags (UTM), device and browser type, IP address and approximate location.
  • Cookies that keep you signed in and keep the site secure (see “Cookies” below).

3How we use it

  • To run your account and show you relevant jobs or candidates.
  • To send your applications to the employer you apply to.
  • To send job alerts and service messages you asked for, such as account and application updates.
  • To detect fraud, fake jobs and misuse, and to keep the site secure.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We use your data only for these purposes. If we ever need it for something new, we will ask for your consent first.

4What employers and the public can see

  • Public candidate listings show only your first name and initial, city, skills, experience and education summary.
  • Email, phone number, WhatsApp, address and resume are never shown publicly. They are available only to signed-in employers, and to an employer you apply to.
  • Job listings show the company name, job details and, where the employer chooses, the salary.

5Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

  • with employers, as described above;
  • with service providers that help us run the site — hosting, email delivery, security and content delivery — who may use it only to provide that service to us;
  • when required by law, a court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users and of Jeevika India.

6Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your choices and protect forms from abuse. We also record basic, first-party visit statistics (page, referrer and campaign) to improve the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but signing in will not work without them.

7How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active or while you are subscribed to alerts. When you delete your account or unsubscribe, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep some records for legal, tax, security or dispute purposes.

8Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and limited staff access to protect your data. No online service is completely secure, so please keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

9Your rights and choices

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and get a summary of how it is used.
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data — most of it you can edit in your account.
  • Withdraw consent and have your data erased, subject to legal requirements.
  • Unsubscribe from job alerts using the link in any alert email or on the job alerts page.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
  • Raise a grievance with us, and if it is not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

10Age requirement

Jeevika India is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Beware of fraud

Jeevika India never charges job seekers for jobs, interviews or offer letters, and never asks for OTPs, passwords or bank details. If anyone asks you for money in our name, it is fraud — please report it through our contact page.

12Grievance officer and contact

For any question, complaint or request about your personal data, write to our grievance officer through our contact page. We aim to acknowledge requests within 72 hours and resolve them within 30 days.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will let you know on the site or by email.
